Word of Week: Filibuster

Increasing one’s vocabulary is a way to expand your mind and articulate your thoughts in new ways.  Below is the word of the week for the week of 08/31/20.

Filibuster: adjective: [fĭl′ə-bŭs′tər]: The obstructing or delaying of legislative action, especially by prolonged speechmaking.

Example:  When a senator wants to stop the majority party from passing legislation he or she will execute a filibuster to squash the legislation. #wordsmith #wordofweek
